Optimizing the Future

We believe that geothermal energy is the most efficient and environmentally friendly way to heat and cool buildings. Ground source heat pumps need minimal upkeep to maintain and require far less energy to operate than traditional HVAC systems, resulting in lower energy bills. No fossil fuels are burned, resulting in a smaller environmental impact.

Mission
Statement

We are dedicated to optimizing the cost-effectiveness and performance of ground source heat pump systems, utilizing electricity efficiently to provide space conditioning and hot water in our clients’ buildings. As the experts in our field, we are committed to delivering well designed systems and providing long-term operating guidance to guarantee the most efficient and dependable outcomes for our clients.

Vision
Statement

To facilitate the replacement of carbon fuels to maintain comfort in buildings with sustainable energy sources that reduces the impact on our environment.

GEOptimize is an Endurant Energy Company

Endurant Energy is a market-leading Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) and Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) solutions provider, specializing in distributed energy resource project development. Pioneers in the industry since the early 2000s, they have paved the way with “first-of-their-kind” projects, including the deployment of the first EaaS batteries in NYC for local utility Con Edison, and Walgreen’s first net-zero store in Evanston IL, which was the first building to integrate a GSHP system with 100% CO2 refrigeration.

Our Team

With decades of combined experience, our geothermal design experts pride themselves on their attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality results. We take a personalized approach to every project, working closely with clients to understand their unique needs.

Ed Lohrenz, B.E.S., CGD

Senior Vice President

Ed has worked in the ground source heat pump industry since the early 1980’s. He has been fortunate to have worked with many people as passionate about the technology as he is. He has had the opportunity to design GSHP systems for many applications and in climates ranging from the Australian outback to the Siberian tundra as well as many unique projects across Canada and the U.S.

Dr. Connor Dacquay, PE, CGD

Associate Director

Connor is a licensed engineer in New York State and the provinces of Manitoba and Ontario, Canada. He has been involved in feasibility studies and detailed design for over 30,000 tons of heat pump capacity across North America, Asia, and Australia. Connor has a Master of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Manitoba and a doctoral engineering degree from Akita University’s Department of Earth Energy Resource Engineering.

Ian Lohrenz, P.Eng., CGD

Associate Director

Ian has focused on energy efficiency in buildings since graduating from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering in 2008. Through experience and education, he has developed an expertise in building energy modelling, ground heat exchanger design, ground source heat pump systems, building commissioning, and energy auditing.

Stephen Hak, EIT, B.Sc.

Associate

Stephen is a Biosystems Engineering graduate from the University of Manitoba. Acquired a specialization in Environmental Engineering with a focus on sustainability and alternative energy sources. Currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Engineering with a focus in geothermal energy. He has gained significant experience in simulating the performance of ambient temperature, multi-building district geothermal systems, and experience in energy modelling, ground heat exchanger design, and ground source heat pump systems.
